For the discussion of same-sex marriage, alternative marriages, and the role government should serve in the institution of marriage.

Now that same-sex marriage is legal (yay!), do you think we will ever get the government out of marriage entirely? I believe that marriage licenses and other government regulations of marriage are pointless. Now that same-sex marriage has been legalized, I feel like fewer people will be fighting to get the state out of marriages though.

I agree Sebastian. Government must not be involved with marriage at all. Actually, now we can hopefully convince social conservatives to fight for getting government out of marriage. Alabama voted to get rid of marriage licenses a while ago. From my interactions with them, many favor the idea while others frown upon it. We will see what will happen. Yet, it makes me want to throw up though when I hear certain leftists speak against voluntary polygamy using the same fucking arguments social conservatives used against gay marriage. Either way this is more of a symbolic issue. Don't get me wrong, it is important. However, my priorities as a libertarian are promoting a free market economy, a non-interventionist foreign policy, and ending the fucking drug war (criminal justice reform in general).
